About Quinn
I completed a PhD in Piano Performance and Collaborative Music Education after years of advanced study in instrumental performance, ensemble work, and educational development during my academic training. Over the past 9 years, I have guided students from different age groups and musical backgrounds, helping them improve through personalised instruction and supportive lesson planning. Teaching piano allows me to combine creativity, mentorship, and emotional communication in a deeply meaningful way. I enjoy helping learners become more expressive and confident musicians through artistic growth.
My teaching approach focuses on patience, adaptability, and balanced musical development. Some students improve best through technical repetition and structured exercises, while others respond more naturally to improvisation and creative exploration. I carefully adjust lessons according to each learner’s confidence level, comfort, and artistic goals. Along with technical development, I help students strengthen listening ability, rhythm awareness, expressive playing, and performance confidence. Creating a welcoming and positive learning atmosphere remains one of my highest priorities as an educator.
Outside teaching, I continue practising piano, studying different musical traditions, and exploring educational approaches that help keep lessons engaging and inspiring. Music remains an important source of creativity and emotional expression in my life. One of the most fulfilling parts of teaching is seeing students become more self-assured and expressive throughout their musical journey. Helping learners enjoy music while developing long-term piano skills continues to motivate me greatly.

My piano lessons are designed to help students strengthen technical ability while developing creativity and musical confidence through structured and engaging learning experiences. I teach rhythm control, note reading, finger independence, hand coordination, expressive phrasing, and dynamic balance using practical exercises that feel approachable for learners at every stage. Lessons also include duet practice, ear training, improvisation activities, timing exercises, and sight-reading sessions that help students improve naturally through regular practice. I create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring music while building strong foundational skills. Every lesson supports both technical development and artistic individuality together.
Beginners focus on keyboard familiarity, posture, scales, and simple melodies through organised routines and patient guidance that build healthy playing habits gradually. Intermediate learners improve rhythmic consistency, coordination between both hands, expressive timing, and smoother transitions through guided studies and structured exercises. Advanced students focus on performance preparation, repertoire refinement, emotional interpretation, and stage confidence through detailed coaching sessions. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s personality, pace, and musical interests so progress remains balanced and motivating throughout the learning process.
Learning piano should feel inspiring, rewarding, and personally meaningful. I encourage students to appreciate steady improvement while building confidence through supportive feedback and consistent practice. Many learners become more expressive and independent as their musical understanding continues developing naturally over time. My goal is to help students strengthen both technical ability and artistic confidence while building a lasting connection with music.
