About Lia
I'm a Political Science student at the University of Massachusetts-Boston with a minor in Public Policy, with nearly ten years of field experience. I've worked for nonprofits, political campaigns, and in legislative offices. I also have many years of experience as a tutor, and I even spent a year working in a classroom as part of City Year.

Calling all middle and high school students (and their grownups)!My name is Lia, I'm a Political Science student, and I am here to make civics education more accessible to young people. Whether you're taking civics as part of your social studies class, or you just want to know more about how our government works and what you can do to create change in your community, I am here for you!
My tutoring style is 100% student-centered. Instead of deciding what you need to know, I will work with you and your grownup to decide what we'll cover in our tutoring sessions. This is YOUR journey as a resident of this planet, and I am just here to provide knowledge to help you along.
I like to keep things pretty casual in my office. We're going to laugh and joke around, but also be ready to think critically about the world around us. Through our time together, I hope to not just give you answers, but help you learn how to ask good questions.

Details
Our first session will be a free 30-minute consultation where we talk about our tutoring goals.
I also expect clients to fully reimburse me for any educational materials I have to purchase from places such as Teachers Pay Teachers. I will always ask in advance before I purchase any materials for a session, at least 48 hours before that session.
