About Pilar
Hi there! My name is Pilar, I am a Colombian biologist who decided to come to Canada to pursue her PhD degree. I have had the opportunity to work with people from various backgrounds thanks to the different projects I have been part of during my career, and a few years ago, when I started working as a Teaching Assistant, I realized how much I enjoy teaching and tutoring. Even though my area of expertise is biology and other natural sciences, I have put a lot of effort into learning English as my second language, and I have a very good set of skills that can definitely help people who are learning a second language. I am an organized and patient person who likes to take her time to make sure things are done well. I believe I can be a great tutor because 1) I am curious and I love learning, 2) I like helping people, and 3) as an international student I have studied almost everything I know in two languages, Spanish and English!
