About Celeste
Hi! My name is Celeste, and I am a current student at Brigham Young University (BYU). For the past five years, I have worked as a professional tutor and lab instructor in the Physics and Astronomy Department. I have experience working with large groups of students, providing one-on-one instruction, and supporting students who are learning English. I am finishing a degree in English Teaching, where I have studied pedagogy and student development. I also lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for two years, where I became fluent in Spanish. I am a warm, easygoing tutor who is passionate about bringing fun and joy back into learning. In my free time, I enjoy baking and curling up with a good book.

I support a positive learning environment that emphasizes students’ strengths while intentionally supporting areas where they struggle. I prioritize building relationships with my students, because meaningful learning begins when students feel confident and comfortable.
A typical lesson follows a gradual release of responsibility. I invite students to share what they are struggling with, provide brief and guided instruction, lead them through supportive practice, and allow time for each student to independently demonstrate their understanding.
My lessons are designed for high school and college students seeking support in writing, reading, grammar, physics, basic chemistry, and/or Spanish.
