About David
As a pre-med senior with years of 1-on-1 tutoring experience, I specialize in helping students master elementary math, pre-algebra, and algebra. My approach ensures that students truly understand each concept, guiding them step-by-step through the material. I recognize that every child learns differently, so I tailor my methods to fit their unique needs.
Patience is one of my greatest strengths, and I believe in creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. To reinforce understanding, I subtly assess their grasp of the material through practice and conversation, making learning feel natural and stress-free.
Whether your child needs help catching up or wants to get ahead, I’m here to build both their confidence and their skills. Let’s unlock their full potential together!

Teaching Method and Techniques:
I use a student-centered, step-by-step approach, focusing on understanding concepts rather than brute force memorization. I break down complex math problems into smaller, manageable steps, using real-world examples to help students connect math to everyday life. I also incorporate visual aids, activities, and frequent questions for understanding to ensure progress.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
Warm-Up (5-10 min): Review of previous material or a quick mental math exercise.
Introduction of New Topic (15-20 min): Explanation of the topic with examples tailored to the student’s level.
Guided Practice (20-30 min): We work through problems together, gradually increasing in difficulty.
Independent Practice (10-15 min): The student works independently while I provide guidance as needed.
Recap and Homework (5-10 min): Summary of the lesson’s key points, assigning light homework depending on if there is need for reinforcement.
Times do vary for each student , as everyone is different in the areas they need help with.
What Sets Me Apart:
With years of 1-on-1 teaching experience, I understand that every child learns differently. My empathetic and patient approach helps students overcome anxiety, especially in math. I create a positive learning environment that encourages questions and celebrates small wins, building both skills and confidence.
Who the Lessons Are For:
These lessons are ideal for elementary and middle school students needing support in foundational math, pre-algebra, or algebra. Whether the student struggles with specific concepts or wants to get ahead, I tailor each session to their needs and learning style.
