About Mark

Hello, I’m Mark — a private martial arts coach based in East London.

I specialise in working with beginners and women who want to feel safe, confident, and supported when starting their journey.

Many of my clients come to me feeling unsure, intimidated, or worried about keeping up. Most of my clients are complete beginners. Whilst others have had negative experiences elsewhere. My role is to remove that pressure completely. Sessions are calm, structured, and designed to help you build confidence at your own pace.

With over 25 years of experience in kickboxing, taekwondo, and karate, I focus on simple, effective training that improves skill, reduces stress, and builds real self-belief — without aggressive or high-pressure coaching.

This is private, personalised coaching, not a crowded class. You’ll get full attention, clear guidance, and steady progress every step of the way.

Perfect if you’re:
Starting from zero
Returning after a break
Looking for a more supportive, non-intimidating approach

A Modern, Supportive Way to Start
My sessions provide a calm, private, and non-judgmental environment designed specifically for beginners and women who want to build confidence through clarity. At £70 per hour, you are investing in a premium coaching experience that focuses on your personal evolution.

What Makes This Different? Your Journey, Visualised.
I combine 25+ years of martial arts expertise with modern equipment to create a visual map of your progress. Instead of "guessing" if you are getting better, we use technology to document your journey, making your growth visible from your very first session.

Each Session Includes:
Structured Foundations: Focused on mobility, posture, and feeling comfortable in your movement.
Precision Pad Work: Pad work to develop your rhythm and timing in a safe, controlled way.

Visual Progress Review: We use a dedicated camera and tripod so you can see your own "before and after." Watching your technique refine in slow-motion is the most powerful way to build genuine self-confidence.

Clear, Step-by-Step Instruction: No pressure. No shouting. Just a logical path forward tailored to your pace.

Confidence You Can See
Before intensity comes composure. By combining varying pad work with video feedback, I help you see your transformation. This "Journey Mapping" replaces the uncertainty of traditional classes, allowing you to develop real, lasting skill and watch your confidence grow session by session.

Your Personalised Path
Every session is an investment in your composure. Whether your goal is to:
Gain Technical Skill: Understand movement through clear, visual examples.
Document Your Growth: Keep a digital diary of your skill milestones.
Build Confidence: See the physical proof of your strength and coordination.
Reduce Stress: Move with fluid, relaxed, and nonchalant efficiency.

Training Options
Private 1:1 Coaching: The full premium experience.
1:2 Sessions: Progress alongside a friend in a supportive setting.
Small Groups: Technical-focused training for a shared journey.

Introductory Experience
Free 30-Minute Consultation: Discuss your goals and see how the technology integrates with the training.
Upgraded 60-Minute Consultation & Training Session (£25 Upgrade): A full technical assessment including your first video analysis and pad work diagnostic.

  • What age did you start playing sport? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.

I started playing sports at around 11 or 12 years old. I vividly remember the excitement and energy I felt and this later transitioned into my passion for Martial Arts. It was a time of discovery, and unfortunately, I faced a muscular setback a few years later. However, whilst this hindered me physically, my mental fortitude refused to see this as a stumbling block.
  • What are your favourite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover?

My favorite sports include Kickboxing and Tae Kwon Do, which I practiced at a high level, honing my skills and techniques over the span of two decades. Additionally, I enjoy hiking as a simple hobby, connecting with nature and challenging myself mentally and physically. Discovery wise, I believe Martial Arts is a never ending journey, and I plan on being proactive and expanding my knowledge.
  • What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue your sport?

The motivation and passion to pursue my sport stem from various sources. Firstly, there's a deep love for the art itself-the intricate movements, the mental discipline, and the satisfaction of mastering a new technique. Secondly, seeing the positive impact martial arts has on my students fuels my drive; particularly with their feedback. Witnessing their growth, both on and off the studio, inspires me to continue pushing myself and sharing my knowledge with others.
  • Do you have a sporting achievement that you're particularly proud of?

One sporting achievement that I'm particularly proud of is achieving a black belt in Kickboxing. It was a culmination of years of dedication, perseverance, and hard work. I overcame quite a few hurdles and adversity along the journey but it was worth it. Earning the black belt symbolised not just proficiency in the physical aspects of the art but also a deeper understanding of principles and philosophy.
  • How have your achievements and challenges made you a better sportsperson?

My achievements and challenges have made me a better person in general by teaching me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of continuous improvement. Every setback became an opportunity for growth, pushing me to analyze my weaknesses, refine my techniques, and come back stronger. Moreover, my achievements instilled a sense of confidence and belief in my abilities, empowering me to tackle even greater challenges and understanding that there is always a solution to a problem.
  • If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?

If I had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, I would choose Naoya Inoue. I admire his exceptional skill, tenacity, and relentless pursuit of excellence in the sport of boxing and would love to learn from him.
  • How do you help people stay motivated?

I help people stay motivated by fostering a supportive and encouraging environment, setting achievable goals, and emphasizing the importance of consistency and perseverance. I also tailor my teaching approach to each individual, recognizing their strengths and areas for improvement, and providing personalized guidance and feedback.
  • What makes you a Superprof in sports?

What makes me a Superprof in Martial Arts; in particular Kickboxing, is my wealth of experience, deep understanding of martial arts principles, and dedication to empowering individuals to reach their full potential. I prioritize not just physical prowess but also mental fortitude, instilling in my students the values of discipline, respect, and continuous self-improvement. Through personalized instruction and holistic guidance, I strive to cultivate well-rounded students who excel not only in their sport but also in life.
