About Eleanor
At the age of 16 I volunteered at Maidstone Mencap’s Saturday club for supporting children aged 4 -11 with learning and physical disabilities. This experience helped me acquire a better understanding of children with special educational needs whilst enabling me to develop good organisational skills through careful planning and delivery of creative, and fun activities. Having seen the positive impact this had on the children and their families, I was inspired to pursue a career in teaching.
I have now studied at the University of Winchester and have acquired BEd Primary Education with Qualified Teaching Status with SEN as my specialism. I have now successfully taught Year 5 for 2 years and I am now in my third year as a fully qualified teacher in Year 4. I am looking to tutor Mathematics to primary aged children (max age 11 years old). I am available most evenings and weekends.

I strive to deliver lessons in a creative way, convinced that children learn best when they are having fun. For example, when teaching the topic of ‘Angles,’ I encouraged the children to use masking tape and whiteboard pens to scribe missingangles on their desks, rather than simply using PowerPoint.
