About Sharon

I became a teacher because I am passionate about engaging students and helping them to achieve their best. I have their happiness and well-being at the core of what I do. I believe Maths and English are fun, if taught in the right way. For some students this may be through games, for others it may be written down or verbalised. Some students may have lots of rest breaks in order to achieve.

I have a track record of helping students achieve their targets, passing exams or becoming more confident in engaging with tasks.

As I was situationally mute myself as a child I have experience in engaging with these learners. I have two young Special Needs children myself, so am experienced in a personal as well as professional way with these types of learner.

I taught mainstream for 20 years and was good at extending learners at all kinds of ability levels.

About the lesson

I make my lessons fun and adapt to students' interests. I have a real understanding of next steps needed and how to get there, using the students' strengths. I have personal experience of SEND and adapt to students' needs.
I am very focused on student well-being and needs because I believe students need to feel safe and secure before they can learn.
I have taught from Reception level up to GCSE, a range of levels.
