About the lesson

Experienced Yoruba Language Tutor — Children, Teenagers & Adults

Hello! My name is Akeem, and I am a Yoruba language tutor from Nigeria.

I teach Yoruba to children, teenagers and adults who want to learn how to understand, speak, read and write Yoruba with confidence.

My lessons are especially suitable for beginners, children growing up in English-speaking homes, Nigerians living abroad, adults reconnecting with their Yoruba heritage, and anyone interested in learning the Yoruba language and culture.

I believe learning a language should be practical and enjoyable. Rather than simply memorizing vocabulary, my lessons help students understand how Yoruba is actually used in everyday situations.

What I Can Help You Learn

• Everyday Yoruba conversation
• Yoruba greetings and expressions
• Yoruba vocabulary
• Yoruba pronunciation and tones
• Sentence construction
• Yoruba reading and writing
• Questions and answers
• Everyday activities and conversations
• Yoruba for children and teenagers
• Yoruba for complete beginners
• Yoruba for adults
• Yoruba language and culture

My Teaching Approach

I use a structured and practical approach that combines explanation, repetition, conversation, questions and answers, pronunciation practice, exercises, revision and homework.

For children, I make lessons interactive and age-appropriate so that they remain engaged while gradually developing their Yoruba vocabulary and speaking ability.

For adults, I focus strongly on practical communication and situations they are likely to encounter in everyday life.

Online lessons can be conducted through Zoom, making it possible for students anywhere in the world to learn Yoruba from the comfort of their homes.

I also offer in-person lessons in Lagos by arrangement.

Whether you want your child to communicate with Yoruba-speaking grandparents and relatives, reconnect with your Nigerian heritage, prepare for a visit to Nigeria, or simply learn a beautiful African language, I would be happy to guide you.

Let's make learning Yoruba simple, practical and enjoyable.
Ẹ káàbọ̀! I look forward to seeing you in class.
