About Rowan
Hello, I’m so glad that you are thinking of starting music lessons! I have been teaching violin for several years now and have seen how learning a musical instrument can enrich so many parts of a student's life. I am a professional violinist recently graduated from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and am currently studying for my Masters in Music at The Royal College of Music. Learning violin completely changed my life, and I am so grateful to be able to pass on what I know through teaching!

I think that it is incredibly important that your lessons be tailored to you. Whether you are an absolute beginner, learning for fun or an aspiring professional, I will help you to achieve your goals. My lessons tend to start with a technical focus, honing the ‘building blocks’ required to achieve comfort and ease when performing. All practical lessons will also contain theory tuition within them, aiming to create a well-rounded knowledge base in music. We will then look at specific repertoire. Depending on where you are in your musical journey, this will vary a lot. I have experience helping beginner musicians start off, preparing intermediate students for ABRSM Examinations (grade 1 through to diplomas), and coaching musicians through audition preparation. No matter where you are in your musical life, I would love to teach you.
