About Kayla
Kayla has an incredible amount of joy and passion for dance, creating, and teaching. She creates a safe environment for dancers to progress and want to get improve. She meet dancers where they are at and will keep reverting choreography until you are comfortable with what you learned.
In 2023, Kayla graduated from UMass Amherst with a BFA and Dance with a focus of performance and choreography specializing in jazz and hip-hop. Kayla has experience with choreographing and teaching hip-hop pieces at both Bridgewater State University and UMass Amherst at an open level. She has experience teaching all ages of Dance from ages three to adult. Subsequently, she has also taught at American dance training camp and was a guest teacher at Bayside studio of Dance teaching, both jazz and hip-hop, and most recently at the Colleges of the Fenway. She also performed professionally with Luke Bar$, Alcina Tran, the Urban Nutcracker, and Aliyah’s Interlude.

Since offering private lessons, I collaborated with 6 incredible individuals with different goals and milestones all ranging from; finding personal grooves, choreography, performance coaching and weddings.
My lessons will be customized to each individual student. I take a student centered approach and my style of teaching and encourage short and long-term goal achievements. I specialize in hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, and performance coaching.
Throughout our time together, I hope that you will achieve at least one if not all of your girls with me and you walk away learning something new.

Details
My remaining availability are as follows;
Mondays 9 AM - 2:00 PM.
Tuesdays, and Fridays from 9 AM to 1:00 PM.
Thursdays from 11:30 AM- 1:00 PM.
Tuesdays and Fridays evenings from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
Sundays before 4:30 PM.
I do have a drivers license however, I do take public transportation. I live close to my local studio I work at, named Tony Williams Dance Center (TWDC) in Jamaica Plain. In addition, I do work in Cambridge and can also rent out the Dance Complex (DC) in addition, if it is more convenience. Both of those studios offer the best affordable rental spaces.
However if students wish for classes to be located further beyond Boston and Cambridge an additional $5.00 will be added for transportation. and an additional $20.00 will be added on the studio rental cost because studios, unlike TWDC and DC, there is a higher rental rate. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments or concerns. Remember, the first class is free!
