About Dominique

With 20 years of sewing experience having my first machine back in around 2001, it's something that I have been passionate for and I am confident in. I am qualified and experienced in Teaching within schools, previously. I have been a Tutor previously for children in the past delivering lessons in English and Maths, however, now I am a small Business Owner I am focusing on helping Adults and Young People learn to use a sewing machine and feel confident to start garment making or other sewing projects themselves. I invite Tutees to my studio to learn where I have all the equipment that you'll need, I also provide handouts as we go along. The beginner course is set and covers foundational knowledge but I'm happy to meet you where your at and add or takeaway lessons as and when needed to complete the course tailored to you. Please enquire within.

About the lesson

I make each student a scheme of work with their needs in mind and provide the equipment and machinery. I will also give a resource for each student to keep at each stage of the course to help guide them through the sessions and tutorials. I offer tuition on subjects such as seams and sewing principles to zips and more. It's a beginners course so it will supply help with learning foundational sewing skills, knowledge and inspiration for those looking to do this as a hobby or even providing a firm sound knowledge on which to build from for more. Each session lasts 1 hour and the course runs for 5 sessions. Everyone is different and unique so is the way they learn and I am able to accommodate this. I also encourage questions along the way and the course is designed to enable you to go on and practice what you've learnt.
