About Josh
I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona. I spent 22 years in Beijing, China. I studied Mandarin Chinese at the top university in China, Tsinghua University, and at University of International Relations. I then studied a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in International Business. I am TEFL certified, have a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard Business School Online and Harvard Graduate School of Education.
I spent many years teaching ESL, English, IELTS and related subjects at various universities, high schools and education institutions in China, including at many international departments and China-US cooperative and exchange programs. I also spent many years private tutoring and doing international education consulting. I also have advanced Chinese language and culture knowledge and skills.

All of my lessons are tailored to each student's language and test level and requirements. I try to maximize student language immersion and language practice, and also teach target vocabulary, and test taking skills, or other relevant skills and content, depending on the lesson being taught. Classes can be taught using various styles and sources, such as with PPT, textbook(s), worksheets and other materials, depending on student preferences and the lesson being taught.
