About Miles
I am an experienced ESL tutor with 9 years of teaching high school and college students, committed to helping learners achieve fluency, academic excellence, and confidence in English. My teaching philosophy revolves around personalised learning, where each lesson is carefully tailored to the student’s individual goals, level, and learning style.
I integrate grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, and speaking exercises into interactive sessions that combine structure with practical application. By using real-life examples and situational exercises, I ensure students can confidently use English in both academic and everyday contexts.
I am known for my patience, adaptability, and ability to simplify complex concepts, creating a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to actively participate, ask questions, and grow. Over the years, I have successfully helped students improve exam results, enhance communication skills, and build lasting confidence in their English abilities.

My ESL teaching methodology is built on Creativity, Communication, Compassion, and Problem-solving. Creativity is fostered through interactive storytelling, role-playing, and project-based activities that allow students to think imaginatively and express themselves freely.
Communication is emphasised through discussions, debates, and collaborative exercises that strengthen speaking, listening, and comprehension skills. Compassion ensures lessons are student-centred, tailored to individual learning styles, and supported with encouragement and guidance throughout the learning journey.
Problem-solving is integrated through real-life scenarios, analytical tasks, and practical exercises that teach students to apply English skills thoughtfully and effectively. I also cover related subjects such as reading comprehension, writing techniques, and vocabulary expansion to create a holistic learning experience.
This methodology equips students to become confident, creative, empathetic, and capable of applying English in academic, professional, and real-world contexts.
