About Katherine
My background is in Fashion and I have 16 years experience designing for UK and international brands. After visiting a Creative Art School as a guest designer, I discovered my natural affinity for teaching and was invited to teach there on a regular basis. Over the past two years, I have honed my skills and now focus all my efforts on supporting students to achieve their creative goals.
I continually draw on my industry experience and align my teaching with professional practise so that students get an insight into the industry they are aiming for.
No matter which design discipline you pursue, I believe the most important creative skill you can learn is curiosity so be open minded and don’t be afraid to ask questions!

My workshops are for those who want a career in design and I will help you develop your creative identity.
Lessons are typically 60 - 90 mins and predominantly practical. I would also expect students to invest time practising and developing the skills they learn in their own time.
I focus on the fundamental principles of art and design which underpin art and design practise. Students will learn creative and technical skills which allow them to research, generate and develop ideas towards a final outcome.
I have an MA in fashion and Textiles and continue to work as a design consultant for small fashion brands in the UK. For the past two years I have taught at a specialist Creative Arts School, while completing a PGCE.
