About Kyle
Kyle Sharp is a Glasgow based Drummer specialising in Live, Studio Recording, Remote Recording and Tuition. He actively plays a mix of shows, tours and festivals across the UK and Europe and has drummed for the likes of Vanives, Fatherson, Becky Sikasa, Be Charlotte, The Vegan Leather, Tyler Collins (CBBC, Amazon Prime) and more. Kyle has played live for over a decade, boasting a BA (Hons) in commercial music and has played with artists on the BBC (TV and Radio), and has played festivals such as Latitude Fest, The Great Escape, The Edinburgh Hogmanay Street Party, C/O Pop, Belladrum, The Glenfiddich Experiment, Party at the Palace, Otherlands, Brewdog EGM and more. He has recorded with multiple artists and producers at Scottish studios such as Gloworm, Chem 19, 7 West, Lofi, and records remotely from his studio in Glasgow's East End. Kyle is a current SQA Secondary School drum instructor where he takes students within the Falkirk council through their SQA Nat 5, 6 and 7 exams, and has also taught privately for over a decade, originally honing his teaching skills at dD Drums then moving on to teach privately himself.

So whether you're a beginner just looking to have fun and learn to play your favourite songs, or you're an experienced player looking to elevate your skills to the next level and gain valuable insight and instruction, then don't hesitate to get in touch. Each student is their own individual, and as such an individual approach should be used. Kyle creates a personalised practice planner that is full of new, unexplored and exciting content, and that fits student's own needs and wants. Kyle has experience in many drum kit teaching topics including any style of music, hand and foot technique, rudiments, independence, timing and feel, ergonomic approaches towards set-up, posture, creative sticking patterns and countless other concepts. Kyle can help turn you into the drummer you would like to be. SQA SCHOOL TUITION: Being a current SQA Secondary School level drum instructor, and armed with a fully SQA-Approved programme, Kyle can help students through their school music exams or graded exams and has a 100% pass record to date with predominantly A-Grade passes. His SQA programme is varied, including pieces and accompanying backing tracks across all levels for each style students can perform in their SQA exams. These pieces are not only basic styles, but 'real' songs adjusted for level so students are never without pieces that they enjoy learning. Kyle accompanies this with a modern approach to teaching utilising Google Classroom to upload and store students work, set deadlines, and communicate with students. PRIVATE TUITION: Kyle's private tuition experience is extensive. Originally honing his skills teaching at Scottish drum tuition centre dD Drums, where during his 5 years teaching there he would teach 35+ private students weekly, both individually and in group classes. Currently, he teaches his private students independently whilst also teaching in secondary schools. As well as this, he has extensive experience with graded exams, having taken multiple students through Rockschool and Trinity graded exams, and has a 100% pass record to date. This wealth of experience gives him the ability and the tools to tailor lessons to the student's needs and wants whilst also arming them with the tools required to learn in an effective and fun manner. KYLE PROVIDES: - Fully equipped teaching programme including Rockschool / Trinity syllabus, as well as a fully SQA-Approved programme + Backing tracks for any students studying music and undertaking exams at the Nat 4, Nat 5, Higher, and Adv Higher level. - One-to-One tailored lessons to the needs and wants of each individual student. - Tuition draws from a range of approaches, catering to all skill levels, backgrounds, and personal learning aims. Lessons could be geared towards academic learning, professional performance, technique/ rudiments, learning to read music etc. Or take on a far more casual direction, such as learning different songs or playing as a hobby. - Lessons can be carried out in person in the comfort of a student's home or over zoom/ teams etc. Travelling to your preferred destination can be arranged. - Full Disclosure and PVG supplied through Disclosure Scotland. KYLE RECOMMENDS: Kyle recommends a programme of either one 30 minute lesson weekly, or one 1 Hour lesson fortnightly for optimal development and enjoyment.

Kyle has been both my children's drum tutor for a number of years. My daughter started having lessons when she was 6. She is now 15 and my son is 13. Both kids are proficient drummers and absolutely love their weekly lessons with Kyle. Kyle is a fantastic tutor and a lovely human being. I would not hesitate to recommend him as a tutor for children or adults of any age.
Kyle is trustworthy, reliable and friendly.Kyle has always given appropriate notice before cancellations, which are on rare occasions anyways. Kyle is extremely skilled in breaking things down in order to help me understand them better and has always been very patient and motivating.
Kyle is a phenomenal drum tutor. In addition to bering an exceptionally talented musician, he also excels at working well with people to put them at ease. Furthermore, he is known for being organised and prepared at all times.
I would highly recommend him to anyone wanting to learn drums at any level.Kyle is an amazing drums tutor. He takes time to find out musical interests and tries to incorporate that into lessons. He is very personable, friendly and professional. Would highly recommend Kyle to anyone.
Kyle is a great teacher with all ages and abilities. Being an actively performing industry professional he has all the skills required to teach at all levels whilst also making sure lessons are a warm, approachable, and friendly space to learn and have fun in.
Kyle is an industry pro and as such has the key skills one would expect of an expert drum tutor. He isn't the "those who can't do, teach" type. He walks the walk and has the knowledge to back it up
