About Sahib
I have been a student at the School of Culture in Bergen for 10 years and have a high level of teaching competence. In recent years, I have composed and published music through music services such as Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer, etc. and played at private concerts around Bergen. I am 16 years old and have a good understanding of how difficult it can be to learn an instrument, and feel that I have a better understanding than most when it comes to teaching children. I have a MYP IB education, so I speak fluent English and Norwegian.

When I teach, it is important that I have the student's confidence to get optimal progression results; therefore, I begin most of the first-hours by introducing myself. I generally explain what classical guitar is and why this magical instrument is so special. I usually use one or more lessons to focus on sitting position and how the guitar should be held, and explain why these elements are so important. Once the child has achieved this, we start working with finger play. The sitting position of the child will never be perfect after a few hours, so it is something I correct while we also play (the same goes for all the technical things; hand position, finger placement, etc.). I have the most experience with children around the age of 6-13, but can accept older students as well, as long as they are engaged :) It is important that the child's parents are a source of motivation for the child, which is quite important since string instruments can be quite demanding .
