About Richard
Hello! Hallo! Bonjour!
I'm Richard. I'm from England and grew up in Kent, but in my twenties I lived in Germany for two years (in Hannover and Magdeburg) and France for a year (in Lille). I loved improving my language skills whilst living abroad, and I am passionate about helping others develop language skills so that they can open up new possibilities for themselves. I've been a German & French teacher in a London-based secondary school since 2020, so I am very familiar with teaching languages, and I love it. I am working on my Spanish in my spare time because I'd like to be able to teach Spanish one day too.

I teach by first listening to you to better understand your language level, your goals and your needs. I will then adapt my teaching style to you. I most enjoy helping my students improve their speaking skills through conversations.
My lessons usually last 1 hour.
I taught English (EFL) for 2 years, working with classes of between 1-10 adult students. I have 5 years' experience of teaching German & French to students aged 11-18 in UK secondary schools. I have a CELTA qualification in teaching English, and a PGCE with QTS to teach foreign languages in UK schools. I have a degree in German, and CEFR level C2 in German (native speaker level) and C1 in French (advanced level).
My lessons are for anyone of any level or age who wishes to improve their German, French or English!
