About Kenneth
I am an American now living in Kota Kinabalu, with the goal of raising the standards of professional flute instruction and performance in Malaysia. I teach lessons both in my studio in Kota Kinabalu in Metrotown, as well as online. While music is what will drive our lessons, I treat music as a language, and it is through this language that I impart wisdom both in music and in other subjects outside of music, sometimes in wonderfully surprising and unexpected ways! Let me be your guide in flute, and you'll learn more about music, and through music, we learn more about ourselves and the world beyond.

Want to get the very best instruction for classical flute? You've come to the right person. I hold a Bachelor's Degree from Carnegie Mellon University (1998) under Julius Baker, and a Master's Degree from Indiana University (2000) under Thomas Robertello. I teach flute at all levels from beginner to advanced, so whether you're just looking to start, or you're wanting coaching for full recitals, auditions, or competitions, I can tailor a training program that will help maximize your chances of musical success. My teaching philosophy is heavily based on raising the student's reading skills as well as employing tried and true practicing techniques and methods to help gain results faster and more efficiently. Lessons are typically 30 minutes long for beginners, and 60 mins for intermediate and advanced levels.
