About Jack
Hi, I’m Jack! I’m a pianist, songwriter, and music teacher with years of experience teaching students of different ages, abilities, and musical backgrounds.
Music has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. Alongside teaching piano, I’ve spent years writing, performing, recording, and working in professional studio environments with other musicians. That experience has shaped the way I teach: I want my students to develop strong musical foundations, but I also want them to understand music, be creative with it, and most importantly, enjoy playing.
As a teacher, I’m patient, encouraging, and easygoing while still making sure students are continually progressing. I know that everyone learns differently, so I take the time to understand each student’s goals and adapt lessons accordingly. There’s no expectation that you already “know music” before starting — complete beginners are very welcome!
One of my favorite parts of teaching is watching a student go from struggling with something that initially seemed impossible to suddenly being able to play it confidently. Whether your goal is to learn your favorite songs, develop your technique, understand music theory, write your own music, or simply become comfortable sitting down at a piano and playing, I’d be happy to help you get there.
Above all, I want lessons to be something you look forward to each week. Music should be rewarding, creative, and fun — and I try to make sure my lessons reflect that.

My approach to teaching piano is built around a simple idea: students learn best when they’re excited about the music they’re playing.
Rather than following the exact same curriculum for every student, I tailor lessons to each person’s goals, musical interests, and experience level. We can work on reading sheet music, chords, scales, technique, rhythm, ear training, music theory, improvisation, songwriting, or simply learning the songs you’ve always wanted to play.
A typical lesson combines technical development with practical playing. We’ll review what you’ve been working on, address any challenges, introduce new concepts or techniques, and apply them directly to real music. I also like to give students clear, achievable goals to work toward between lessons without making practice feel like homework.
What sets me apart is my experience both as a piano teacher and as a working musician. In addition to years of teaching, I have extensive experience writing, performing, recording, and working alongside other musicians in a professional studio environment. This allows me to teach not only how to play the piano, but how music actually works — and how to become a more confident, independent musician.
Lessons are available for children, teenagers, and adults, from complete beginners to more experienced players looking to develop their skills. Whether you want a structured musical education or simply want to sit down at a piano and confidently play the music you love, I’ll build the lessons around what you want to accomplish.
