About Miguel
My basic training is Lyrical Singing, but I actively seek to adapt to various musical genres. I once had a Bossa Nova duo, for example, and sang Jazz standards (Sinatra, Nat King Cole ...). I have participated in several Opera and Musical Theater projects, so I think this suggests, in itself, how much I like singing different genres.
I have a master's degree in Music Teaching (Singing), which gives me the academic skills to teach in a more complete way.
As for teaching experience, I currently have several private students and I have already taught at the Conservatório de Música da Bairrada (hired) and at the Academia de Música de Vilar do Paraíso (intern), in addition to other music schools.

I started my music studies in 2009 and, in the academic year 2013/14, I entered the University of Aveiro, where I completed, under the guidance of Prof. Isabel Alcobia, the Bachelor's degree in Music and the Master's degree in Music Teaching (Singing).
I try to diversify my activity between Singing solo, in an ensemble and choir. Some highlights are: "Die Zauberflöte" and "Don Giovanni" by W. A. Mozart; the "Matthäuspassion" and "Johannespassion" by J. S. Bach; "The Creation" by J. Haydn; "Trágico-Marítima History" by F. Lopes-Graça.
Through the "Preparing Stage Singing" workshop (2016), I performed at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in the role of Simone in the opera "Gianni Schicchi" by G. Puccini. I participated in the Berlin Opera Academy 2019, where I prepared the role of Bartolo in the opera "Le nozze di Figaro" by W. A. Mozart, which I had already performed at the Festival Zêzere Arts 2018. In collaboration with the company all'Opera, I interpreted the role of Norton in the opera "La cambiale di matrimonio" by G. Rossini (2019) and I joined the choir in "L'elisir d'amore by G. Donizetti (2019).
I already debuted, still in 2019: the song cycle "Frédéric Chopin no Inverno de Maiorca" by Miguel Vasconcelos; the opera "Geraldo e Samira" by Amílcar Vasques-Dias (Artes à Rua, Évora); and two one-act operas by Marco Benetti and Nuno Costa in La Biennale di Venezia 2019.
In the XXVIII Cursos Internacionais de Música da Casa de Mateus, I had the opportunity to work with María Cristina Kiehr. I also participated in several masterclasses with Pierre Mak, Susan Waters, João Paulo Santos, Helen Lawson and Ulrike Sonntag.
In addition to playing Musical Theater roles, I share a taste for choral singing, having already been a member of the Gulbenkian Choir, and founding member of Moços do Coro and the homonymous association, in which I share the direction with Nuno Miguel de Almeida, conductor of the ensemble.

O Miguel sempre demonstrou ser uma pessoa muito curiosa por aprender, aprofundadamente, todas as matérias. E na continuação da sua aprendizagem esteve envolvido em projectos que visaram aprofundar estratégias que ajudassem pedagogicamente no ensino da música e, especialmente, no ensino do Canto.
