About Remi
While pursuing his Music teaching qualifications at McGill Remi has taught a wide variety of student populations. To name a few: Centennial Regional Highschool, Rosemont Highschool, & Verdun Elementary in Montreal. In 2022 he completed a posting as the tuba instructor at the Canadian Military Academy for Music in Ontario, teaching incoming music students the skills necessary to perform music in the military. In 2023 he was gifted a contract as an outdoor educator on Vancouver Island with the YMCA where he incorporated music as a foundational tool for outdoor pedagogy.
Remi performed extensively in the Laurentian corridor, specifically at venues in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and the surrounding areas. He has also performed in Europe, Germany and Austria; being given the opportunity to perform internationally with multiple ensembles such as the Ontario Honour Band, the McGill Wind Orchestra, the Video Game Orchestra, the Hannaford youth brass band ensemble, the Mcgill Symphonic Orchestra, L’orchestre Symphonique de L’isle, the Mont-Royal Youth Orchestra, the Band of The Ceremonial Guard in Ottawa, and the 6R22eR regiment band.
Remi is now busy developing clinical skills required to practice as a music therapist at Capilano University, with practical applications across all client populations. In doing so learning to apply his musicianship in a healthcare setting through the theoretical foundations of music psychology, neuroscience, and transpersonal perspectives. His interests now lie in the application of psychedelic therapy in the current clinical music therapy framework.

I am a caring and supportive teacher, always willing to nurture the musician in all of us. I believe everyone is musical, and I always take a student-centered approach to my teaching. Learning from me can look very different depending on what type of student you are, but the first session will always begin by orienting our goals (whether it be jazz improvisation, passing the RCM10, or playing and singing pop tunes). Then it'll usually follow a two-fold structure of technique practice (through scales and etudes) and then repertoire practice.
My lessons are structured so that my students leave feeling a joy for creating music while also progressing fast enough to see real skill increase. Whether you're an adult thinking about picking up a new hobby or a child wanting to pick up the piano, I am happy to accommodate all your learning styles, preferences, and abilities.

Remi was a great tuba/low brass instructor! We worked together summer 2022 and he taught me so much. I think a core skill he has that makes him stand out from others is the environment he creates in not only one on one sessions, but in group settings as well. He just makes you feel comfortable, even if the thing you’re working on is outside of your comfort zone. Overall, I an incredible experience with Remi!
Whether it’s theory, jazz, classical or improv tutoring you’re looking for Remi is the one. He is so patient teaching me technique and theory in the way that suits me and at my own pace. Highly recommended. Miriam
He meets his students where they are at, and plays off their strengths to build their confidence to try harder pieces. Kind, understanding and full of passion for music and helping his students flourish on the piano!
Remi makes learning music fun. He is knowledgeable, patient, makes learning music enjoyable and memorable. If you're looking for a music teacher who cares, look no further. You u cannot go wrong selecting Remi as your music teacher.
