About Daniel
I’m a professional pianist and piano teacher based in Rawdon, and a graduate of Leeds Conservatoire, where I studied Jazz Piano. I currently teach at Yorkshire Music School in Saltaire and The Music Bank in Knaresborough, alongside teaching private students.
I offer private piano lessons at students’ homes, travelling to teach children and adults in the comfort of their own home and on their own piano or keyboard. I teach complete beginners through to more experienced players, covering technique, sight-reading, theory, chords, harmony, improvisation and playing by ear.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and musical interests, whether they want to work towards grades or simply enjoy learning the piano.
I’m based in Rawdon and offer home piano lessons across Rawdon and surrounding areas, as well as Harrogate, Knaresborough and selected nearby locations.

I tailor each lesson to the student’s age, ability, musical interests and goals. I teach complete beginners through to more experienced players, including both children and adults.
Lessons can cover technique, sight-reading, music theory, chords and harmony, ear training, improvisation and repertoire. Students can work towards graded exams where appropriate, or learn purely for enjoyment.
My teaching places a strong emphasis on understanding how music works, recognising patterns and developing the ear, helping students become more confident and independent at the piano.
Lessons usually last 30 minutes to one hour and take place at the student’s own home, using their piano or keyboard.

Perfect! Lovely chap, quick to communicate with. Lesson style, I had lessons as a child and didn't like to formulaic way of learning scales. Dan has since explained it (theory, chords, majors, etc) in such a way that I finally understand when I never understood it before! Definitely continuing on.

As a complete beginner, I couldn’t have asked for a better Piano tutor than Daniel. The sessions are very enjoyable and I’m now feeling much more confident and motivated to keep improving
I have really enjoyed my tutoring sessions with Daniel. I would not hesitate to recommend Daniel.
I’ve been learning with Daniel for a few months now and I have seen a huge improvement with my skills already. He is a very patient tutor who inspires me to keep learning. I would really recommend Daniel!
I had the pleasure of working with Daniel and he's an outstanding pianist. Initially hesitant about online lessons, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Daniel’s friendly nature and ability to adapt to various styles make him perfect for any occasion. If you need a talented, reliable pianist for events or lessons, I highly recommend him!
Dan has been a wonderful teacher to my son for nearly two years now. He has made learning enjoyable without it feeling like a chore or homework. He has nurtured Gabriel’s musicality, allowing him to play classical and jazz pieces from the heart.
