About Elana
I've been a professional speechwriter for Federal Cabinet Ministers for nearly a decade. Before then, I worked as a professional writer for the Canadian Armed Forces and Department of National Defence (yes, it has a 'c' in the Canadian spelling! :-)).
I'm skilled in many types of professional writing and have taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels in a number of Canadian Universities.
I have a degree in Political Science from McGill University, and a graduate degree in Strategic Public Communications and Speechwriting from American University in Washington, DC.
You'll find me to be kind, enthusiastic, and attentive. I look forward to meeting you!

Hello! I look forward to working with on your writing. In a typical session, we'll first review your goals, challenges and your writing, and then work together productively to create the product you need, whether that's a speech, an essay, or any other type of document.
Are you just looking to improve your writing overall or learn a specific new type of writing? I've got you! I've got lesson plans to help you hone the craft of writing and set out into the world more confidently and skillfully. And if you just want to learn about a career in professional speechwriting and how to pursue one, I'm happy to focus out time together on that, too.
