About Linda
I'm one half of a BAFTA-longlisted and internationally multi-award-winning writing/directing duo and we teach Screen Acting online (and in person). We have directed A-list film and TV talent and have agent representation. Our work has screened in OSCAR, BAFTA & BIFA-qualifying Official Selections globally and has been distributed on the most important SVOD platforms worldwide. Variety has covered our Jury Prize win during the Cannes Film Festival, AmPav Emerging Filmmaker Showcase 2024, making us two-time winners in this category. We both hold a 1st Class Honours Degree in Film Studies, including a 3-year focus on Screenwriting and Film Form. Alongside our writing and directing, we are experienced Screen Acting Coaches, delivering weekly online and in person sessions over the last 8 years. In our extensive and ongoing work training professional screen actors, we have helped our clients secure and prepare for roles in major films, in streaming and television for Netflix, BBC, ITV and Channel 4 among others, and in castings for The National. WHAT WE DO: - run extensive and ongoing private training for selected professional screen actors working in film, TV and streaming both in-person and via Zoom - have helped clients secure and prepare for roles in major films, in streaming and television for Netflix, BBC, ITV and Channel 4 among others, and in castings for The National. - have taught at various institutions for screen acting, including Run at it Shouting, D&B Academy Bromley, The Actors Centre and Northampton University. CAREER LEVELS: - train and advise professional screen actors at a point in their career where they are looking to advance to more regular/character-arcing and leading roles in screen - transitioning drama school graduates (LAMDA, Bristol Old Vic, GSA, etc.) to professional screen career level - training entry-level screen actors to industry audition standard - usually 18+ (if you're younger and have a passion to screen act, do drop us a message and we'll see what we can do) 1. SCENE WORK AND SPECIFIC SCREEN ACTING TRAINING (1hr or 2hrs) Nail the scene and stand out in auditions; Understanding Storytelling and Screenplay Form. We train screen acting from a storytelling point of view; how to satisfy the narrative, how to identify and hit all the beats, how to create tension etc., which will help you gain confidence in judging what to supply and will build the foundation for any successful screen audition. Sending self-tapes into the void makes many actors wonder... ‘Am I good enough?’ And what does that mean? What kind of good? What makes one performance more ‘suitable’ than another? What is a ‘good choice’, by what rules is it judged and how do you make a ‘bold’ one? Often, the only way actors know how to measure the success of their performance is by the degree of realism. However, in screen auditions, the actor’s understanding of the scene and their contribution to the requirements of the storytelling are paramount. If you have asked yourself one or several of the questions above, get in touch with us and we can start working on your storytelling in screen acting through scene work. We will send you a screenplay scene and allocate a role. You will learn how to extract the essential conflict and storytelling from the scene and how to avoid being 'on the text' or ‘on the plot'. Armed with new theoretical knowledge of how a film/TV screenwriter constructs a screenplay to UK standards, you will practically evolve your scene with our help – so you can put increasingly more captivating, conflict-driven takes to camera. 2. COACHING FOR SELF-TAPES & AUDITIONS, RECALLS and AHEAD OF FILMING (1hr or 2hrs) We offer last-minute sessions to prepare you for self-tapes, in-person auditions and recalls. We also train our clients with the production sides ahead of filming. 3. SPOTLIGHT REVIEW & CAREER ADVICE (1hr) In the Spotlight Review session, we will go through your Spotlight profile step by step, comparing it against industry standards and best practices and displaying the information in the most compelling way for casting directors. The goal is to make sure the distinct actor and their personality come through in the Spotlight profile and to increase the likelihood and frequency of self-tape and audition requests. We also answer any career questions you might have or next career steps you're looking to achieve - helping you find the right strategy to achieve your next goals.
