About Jasmine
Jasmine is currently in her first year of an MMus postgraduate degree in Violin Performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She is a graduate of the University of Leeds, having achieved a 2:1 in her BMus degree in 2024. During this time, Jasmine studied the violin with Helen Brackley Jones. Jasmine also holds a Diploma in Violin Performance (DipABRSM) and Grade 8 with Distinction. She is a competent pianist as well. Whilst at Leeds, Jasmine led the Leeds University Union Symphony Orchestra, formed and led the Clothworkers String Quartet (who have given national and international premieres of new music), and played in numerous musical theatre pit bands across Yorkshire. She was the soloist in a performance of Prokofiev's Second Violin Concerto in Leeds in 2024. Jasmine has also been a member of the Opera North Youth Orchestra for two years, including as principal second violinist. Jasmine also spent six months studying at a conservatoire in Strasbourg, France. Having returned to Leeds in 2023, Jasmine has since given a recital of Franck’s A major Violin Sonata in Ripon and was a finalist in the 2024 Friends of Baroque Music in Yorkshire competition. Jasmine has enjoyed playing for a number of orchestras in and around Yorkshire and the Midlands, including recently travelling to Antwerp with the Northern Musical Theatre Orchestra. Jasmine was also selected for a collaborative project with Athens Conservatoire; a handful of Leeds students travelled to Samos for an intensive Baroque music course.

I've been lucky to have had fantastic teachers growing up, and some great opportunities. I am now keen to give as many people as possible the same experience. I particularly enjoy starting beginners (children or adults) off on the Violin, and providing them with the solid technical foundations required for successful music making. Music is so personal, and I love working one-to-one with students because it allows us to focus on the pupil's individual needs. Everyone learns in different ways, and I always tailor my teaching to each student. I love the challenge of finding new ways to teach things! I like to start beginner pupils off with a half-hour lesson, sometimes increasing to 45 minutes as the student advances.
