About James
I am currently carrying out a fully funded doctorate research project at Sussex University, while teaching as a lecturer and doctoral tutor in the subject of Psychology. I have specialities in statistics, coding, and socio-cognitive Psychology, but have broader knowledge in all areas of the subject.
I graduated with a 1st class degree from Exeter University in 2017 before working in the city of London for 5 years, and then starting my PhD programme at Sussex.
I can help, teach and assist my students at all levels of academia, whether they need to prepare for an exam, interview or application, write an essay or dissertation, or simply need a little help organising their time and schedule.
I believe that there are fundamental critical thinking and writing skills that all successful students should aim towards, which can improve your grades but also improve how you think about the world more generally.

I teach at university level, while conducting my PhD research, but can help all students from GCSE, A-Level, BSc, BA, MA and MSc levels to better grasp and understand theories across all fields of Psychology, as well as R coding/programming and statistics.
Whether it's exam prep, revision scheduling, essay and dissertation writing, or other areas, I will tailor and adapt our sessions to your specific needs. We can achieve this by communicating before our sessions, by discussing the areas you need to focus on ahead of time, and by addressing the specific questions you need answered.
Perhaps more importantly, I will help you to improve how you think, write and communicate, to ensure you fulfil your potential and get the best marks you can. Additionally, I can help advise you in your academic and career-centred decisions
