About Derik
I am 24 years old, from Bayamón, P.R. I came to the U.S. at 10 years old in 2012. As I learned English I was always speaking Spanish at home. I have continued to write and read Spanish to ensure I kept my language in the back of my head as at an early age I noticed most of my friends and family got a bit lazy and lost most of their vocabulary over time. I mainly focused my career in automotive as that is in every Puerto Rican’s bloodstream. I am now a full-time mechanic at BMW and as a side hustle I tutor friends and family, therefore I figured I’d try to do it full-time as I genuinely enjoy it!!!

Tutor will teach the correct pronunciations and grammar as spoken in Puerto Rico. Tutor will adjust the lesson according to what the learned wants to learn for to ensure we cover as many conversations as possible. Tutor will make sure the learner is comfortable speaking multiple common and uncommon conversations that the learner may experience. Tutor will practice conversations at multiple speeds to ensure the class is fun and memorable.
