About Maria
Hello! My name is Maria, and I am a passionate and experienced Science and Maths educator. I hold a postgraduate degree in Physics and a Bachelor’s in Education from India. In the UK, I have achieved Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for England and Wales, as well as SVQ Level 7 in Children and Young People from Scotland.
I am currently working in a nursery in Edinburgh, gaining hands-on experience supporting children’s learning and development. I have also taught Physics and Science in India for primary and early secondary students, and I am comfortable supporting students in Maths as well.
My teaching approach is interactive and student-focused. I use activity-based learning, small experiments, demonstrations, and multimedia resources such as PowerPoint presentations or educational videos to make lessons engaging and easy to understand. Lessons are typically 30–60 minutes, tailored to the student’s age, topic, and needs.
I teach Primary (P3–P7 / KS2) and early Secondary (Years 7–9 / KS3) students and aim to help them build confidence, understanding, and curiosity in Science and Maths. My goal is not just to teach concepts but to inspire students and make learning enjoyable.
