About Julie
I enjoy teaching pupils to play the piano and the clarinet.
It is motivating when pupils improve. I also enjoy playing pieces that pupils suggest. I find You Tube very useful and pupils very often introduce me to music that I haven’t heard before.

I feel that one of my strengths is that I give pupils the confidence to achieve their full potential.
Each pupil learns in a different way and I try to adapt the way I teach to suit each pupil.
IIt is really good to have the focus of working towards an exam. I also think that it is important that pupils try to learn and improve when working towards the exam instead of just aiming to ‘get the next certificate’.
There are lots of really good tutorials on You Tube. I do feel though that it is important for pupils to build a good technique before they use these tutorials so that they don’t build up bad habits.
