About Mary
I am a self-employed crafter. After my husband became disabled and I became his primary carer I had to take my hobby to the next level. Here I am 15 years later still selling my makes. I have studied every aspect of my business so that I can provide a professional product. I taught my 7-year-old granddaughter to sew and together we made matching hoodies. We had so much fun I wanted to offer this to others. I then went on to do a qualification in teaching adults and a sewing diploma. Feeling confident in my skills I then started offering lessons on a one-to-one basis, moving on to small groups. I have experience in almost every aspect of sewing. Over the years I have made numerous outfits and garments. I have altered clothes including reducing a men's suit down 3 sizes. A well-renowned tailor told me this could not be done. However, I am not someone who accepts no as an option. lol I have good references from customers which I am proud of. I have never been the sort of person that blindly follows instructions often navigating my own path and believe this enables me to recognise individual learning styles and adapt my tutoring to ensure the student gets the best out of their time with me.

I prefer 1-1 tutoring or small groups I am a very patient, happy-go-lucky person My workshop is fully equipped with machines, fabric, notions and Air Con Lessons to include Sewing Machine Basics, Tools of the trade, Marking and cutting, Measuring and pressing, Commercial patterns, Types of fabric and Using an overlocker I have taught children and adults so no age limits I do have two small very friendly dogs who like to accompany me in the workshop, so If you have a problem with dogs then this is not for you.

Perfect! Mary is great very friendly explains things well feels like I have know her for ever can’t wait for each lesson
Definitely recommend her to everyone- Michelle is a really good student. Her biggest strength is knowing what she doesn't know and asking questions. She is friendly and bubbly and I really enjoy teaching her. I'm looking forward to her finished project.Mary's response :

I didn't know Mary before my class. She helped show me how to use my sewing machine from scratch and gave me material and equipment to start me on my journey.
We started a small project which I have brought home to finish . She gave me loads of tips and told me what and where to get resources. She would not let me pay until after my class to make sure I was completely happy . Super kind and very patient..
