About Marie

I've been teaching English as a foreign language for four years but prior to that, I also delivered BTEC courses in UK colleges and I have worked in British secondary schools. I'm currently based in Nottingham, UK, but I've lived and taught in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Russia and Spain, with additional short contracts in Austria and UK summer schools. I have a Trinity certTESOL, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education and credits at Masters level in TESOL. My experience covers teaching both adults and children, delivering general English but also exam preparation.

About the lesson

I generally use a communicative or task-based approach, and enjoy integrating technology where possible to make lessons more engaging and functional. When working with children, I often use games or drama but overall, I try to incorporate activities such as role plays to practise English in realistic situations. My aim is to be more creative when teaching grammar and vocabulary to keep lessons varied and interesting.

There is a 24 hour cancellation policy, so there is no charge if you cancel a lesson 24 hours or more before it is due to start, however, I reserve the right to charge for the lesson if it is cancelled less than 24 hours before the start time.
