About Rosie
I am a fully qualified primary school teacher with QTS currently teaching in Reading. I am currently teaching and planning for a whole year group (56 children) and therefore have a strong understanding on how to differentiate my teaching for a range of abilities.
I studied for four year a The University of Derby graduating with a First Class Honours degree in BEd specialising in Humanities with QTS.

With two years experience teaching Year 6, I have a secure understanding of the end of Key Stage 2 expectations and I believe that I am exceptionally good at preparing children for test situations. My passion for teaching English results in a strategic teaching approach towards reading, grammar, punctuation and spelling and I tailor this to the needs of the children. Teaching upper key stage Mathematics has also provided me with a secure arithmetic knowledge base, an ability to transfer this knowledge to problem solving and reasoning situations and also prepare children with exam techniques such as pace, using the mark scheme and the most efficient methods to use. I also teach the wider curriculum on a daily basis and I am able to teach elements of the curriculum with a cross-curricular approach. My teaching methods are exciting and informative as children's love of learning is at the heart of my teaching philosophy as well as the importance of building a strong relationship with the children so that they feel comfortable when asking for support.
