About Jennifer
I have always loved working with children and genuinely enjoy getting to know their individual personalities, interests and little quirks. What I love most is seeing children grow in confidence, discover something they enjoy and realize that they are capable of things they may not have believed they could do.
I love the curiosity, imagination and enthusiasm that children bring to everything they do. I enjoy listening to their ideas, encouraging their creativity and finding fun and engaging ways to help them learn. I think one of the most rewarding parts of working with children is seeing their excitement when something finally clicks, or when they surprise themselves with what they can achieve. My most favorite thing of all, is seeing the child excited to learn, proud of themselves and ready to challenge themselves.
I am a qualified primary school teacher, graduating from NUI Maynooth University in 2023, and I have two years’ experience working in primary schools, particularly with Junior-level classes in EAL and SET. I also have experience providing grinds and individual support to children with EAL and additional needs.
Working with children has always been a big part of my life. I have been a Girl Guide and Foroige Leader, and have worked with Let’s Go and Star Camp as both a Camp Leader and Camp Manager. I have also worked with Mosney, including with children with special educational needs, as well as volunteering with charities and community organizations.
I am a very creative person and have a huge interest in musical theater, drama, singing, arts and crafts and creative activities. I love bringing these interests into my work with children and believe that learning can be much more enjoyable when it involves imagination, creativity and play.
I also love traveling, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures, which has given me a very open-minded and positive outlook. I enjoy encouraging children to be curious about the world around them and to celebrate what makes them unique.
I am naturally warm, patient, enthusiastic and encouraging, and I want every child I work with to feel listened to, valued and comfortable being themselves.
For me, tutoring isn’t just about helping a child get better at Math, English or reading — it’s about helping them believe in themselves, enjoy learning and feel proud of what they can achieve. ️
