About Jessica
I qualified with a 2:1 in my English Literature BA Honours degree in 2016. For two years, I was the assistant director of Explore Learning, a tuition centre for children aged 4-16. I have just finished my PGCE at UCL. In my training year, I have had the opportunity to work in both grammar schools and comprehensive schools teaching KS3 and KS4.

I am an engaging and enthusiastic teacher that focuses on ingraining a pleasure for learning and academic progress against the National Curriculum. I naturally sought to build a strong rapport with all of my students which tends to motivate them to want to do well and reach their full potential. I pride myself on being an assertive yet likeable teacher who is patient and warm towards all students.
I specialise in preparing students for their English GCSE exams; both literature and language paper, preferably those who are using the AQA exam board. I will provide my own materials and tailor each lesson to my students’ needs and requirements. I have experience working with both high level gifted and talented students in which case the goal is to stretch them to reach a level 9, as well as students who are currently not meeting their target grades and need a boost. I am able to support SEN students who attend comprehensive schools, having taught numerous autistic, dyslexic and ADHD students during my training.

Jess is a wonderful person and a brilliant English teacher. She’s kind, patient and understanding and has the ability to communicate and connect with people from all backgrounds and cultures.
