About Jay
I’m a qualified Secondary English teacher who is passionate about helping students build confidence, improve their skills and achieve their academic goals.
I enjoy working with students of all abilities and believe that with the right support, every student can make meaningful progress. My approach is supportive, structured and tailored to the individual, helping students develop strong reading, writing and analytical skills while building confidence in their own ability.
Alongside teaching, I have competed in sport at a high level, which has reinforced the importance of discipline, consistency and resilience. These are qualities I encourage in my students as they work towards their own goals.
As a classroom teacher, I understand the challenges students face and the demands of modern examinations. Whether you’re aiming to improve your grades, prepare for GCSEs or A-Levels, or simply become a more confident learner, I’m committed to helping you succeed.

My lessons are tailored to the individual needs of each student. Whether you are aiming to improve your confidence, strengthen your reading and writing skills, or achieve a higher GCSE or A-Level grade, I will create a structured plan to help you succeed.
As a qualified secondary English teacher, I understand the challenges students face in the classroom and in examinations. Lessons focus on identifying gaps in knowledge, developing effective revision strategies, improving exam technique and building the skills needed to achieve lasting progress.
I provide a supportive but challenging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing confidence. My goal is not only to improve grades, but also to help students become more independent and resilient learners.
Areas covered include English Language, English Literature, reading comprehension, essay writing, analytical skills, revision planning and examination preparation.
Each lesson is engaging, focused and designed to deliver measurable results.
