About Katharine
I am a qualified teacher. I have been teaching for the past 5 years, and have worked in many different educational provisions. I have worked as a KS2 class teacher and a secondary mathematics teacher. I have also worked in a provision for students with an EHCP with a primary need of ASD or SEMH teaching mathematics 1:1 or in small groups at KS3, GCSE and A Level. I have also taught in an ARP for children with ASD in primary school.

My teaching method is tailored to the needs of each individual student. I ensure that I teach children in the way that they learn, and adapt my teaching to fully support their progress and learning. At the beginning of a new topic, I assess the pupils prior knowledge to provide me with the opportunity to assess prior knowledge, and address any prior misconceptions, before continuing with the work. I aim for the students to understand the concepts behind what they are learning, so that they are able to create a solid foundation to build their future work on.
