I like to bring abstract scientific concepts to life with visual and practical learning experiences to help students to understand how their learning applies in the real-world.
In the classroom, I encourage students to work together by promoting small group or whole class activities. Through verbally expressing their ideas and responding to others students will develop their self-confidence, as well as enhance their communication and critical thinking skills which are vital throughout life.
It is important that students ask questions and investigate their own ideas. This helps improve their problem-solving skills as well as gain a deeper understanding of academic concepts. Both of which are important life skills.
Differentiating my teaching and learning activities is essential for students to access information being taught, and equally ensuring students are being sufficiently challenged. Assigning activities according to students’ unique learning needs means individuals with higher academic capabilities are stretched and those who are struggling get the appropriate support.
My proposal for the first free session will be a general introduction, including a few questions that I have in order to help you on your way to success these sessions such as:
- How often will you be committing to tutoring sessions
- How long you would like the sessions to last
- Any specific lessons/concepts in a particular topic you would like to focus on.
- Grade you are currently working at and what grade you would like to reach.
Please have the above ready when contacting me.
I will then use the remainder of the first free session for practice questions in the topic you have stated so that I can gauge a better understanding of strengths and weaknesses.

For a mature student like me-looking to get me on track for university, Adele was a great fit with her background as a science graduate and as a past mature student. She is a patient and thoughtful teacher, and her enthusiasm for biology is contagious. If you are struggling while preparing for your science A-levels, like I was, she can really help.
