About Mélissa Mil
Hey there!
I'm an unorthodox and creative person that dislikes being put in a box. I'm trilingual (Fr, Eng, Spa) and my toolkit is full of diverse life experiences.
Like the students working hard to make their way through their academic journey, I'm also a work in progress. I've found myself in education without looking for it. It found me. I have an undergrad at UQAM, I also started a Masters at USher that I have chosen to put on ice for now. I also spent most of my career teaching at Vanguard Qubec, a school for kids with severe learning disabilities.
For sure, working with disabled and neuro-divergent youth for 17 years, I have seen my own view of the world (and academia) change and shift. In the end, it is the personal connection with each student that makes the difference, not the subjects themselves.
I strive to bring each and every student, regardless of learning difficulties or privilege, a connection that will help them source the best of what they have to give. It is together that we build this world we live in and it does not come from a book. It comes from human connection.
