About Gavin
I gained a Scholarship to train at RADA for 3 years in 2001 and have been a professional Actor since then. Last year I successfully completed my Master's Degree in Actor Training and Coaching from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, having previously completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Performance Teaching from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. I like to make my lessons enjoyable, relaxed and improvisational in style but also strive to create the highest quality of performance drawing upon my 20 years experience in acting and theatre.

I teach my Actors by first assessing their needs and identifying their areas of strength and those that need refining. We then work together closely on the text they wish to use and, when appropriate, I guide them towards their objectives by introducing ideas about finding truth, using technique and how we create a character both physically and vocally. Once this process is embedded we work towards our end goal of producing a polished, believable and memorable performance. I draw from being both a teacher and a director in my lessons and, irrespective of the project, I strive to provide a lasting insight to the student into how they can personally draw from the work we do, and apply it to any other project in the future.

Perfect! Gavin is a brilliant tutor. He is has lots of experience
and possesses so much passion and genuine curiosity. He has helped me really hone my acting technique and build confidence. Gavin helped me prepare a few monologues for a course audition. So far I have been successful and the monologues very well received. I struggled with Shakespeare and Gavin has taken the time to not only help me find monologues, but also take me through the piece line by line so that I understand it. His direction of the Shakespeare piece was original and FUN! He has been so supportive the whole way and made sure I have been happy throughout the process; I absolutely trust in Gavin and feel grateful to have him as a tutor on this journey. Would absolutely recommend.Perfect! Gavin is an excellent drama/acting teacher, he was extremely helpful in finding and preparing monologues for drama school auditions and I would highly recommend him to anyone requiring coaching .
