About Nora
I have been teaching for ten years in Elementary schools and have my Master's degree in Elementary Education. I have taught second grade, preschool, and have substitute taught in all Elementary grades. I have worked with students in special education and students with Autism and learning disabilities. I have worked with students who are learning English as a second language. I am currently a reading intervention teacher at an Elementary school. I teach small groups of students in grades K-5. I use data to tailor my lessons for my students to their specific needs, and adjust those lessons as needed.

My lessons are for students in grades K-6. I incorporate phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency in my lessons so students have a well-rounded reading instruction. Depending on my student's skill level, the contents of a lesson may look differently. An example would be something like this:
1. Review letter sounds/digraphs
2. Learn new sounds/digraphs
3. Learn new words with sounds spellings and irregular words
4. Practice reading new words together and individually.
5. Write new words.
6. Read a passage containing new words.
7. Answer questions about the passage.
