About Kiara
My name is Kiara! Originally, I am from the U.S., and I grew up in Richmond, VA. I got my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing, worked for 3.5 years at a hospital before I began travel nursing around the country for 3.5 more years. I began teaching English in Madrid, Spain for the last year while also learning Spanish part-time. I am TEFL certified as well! While I am still really passionate about health and wellness, I am absolutely enjoying my teaching english and am so motivated to help others through this process. I’m friendly and outgoing, quirky, a self-proclaimed extroverted introvert. I have a big heart and am compassionate. I enjoy working out and cooking at home. I love a good hike, a good meal around laughing with friends, live music, dancing, and watching TV when I get some free time. Oh and how could I forget my strongest love, traveling! How amazing of an experience is travel? We get to explore and get to know new places and people; we get to try new foods and new flavors; we get to learn a country's history and what makes it tick; ; and we get to see how what makes each place unique also makes it so extraordinarily special!

As a tutor, first I always want to assess your goals and how you learn best, and, from there, I feel like I would be able to figure out which types of activities you would enjoy to the best. I always feel as though the conversational method of teaching english is such an efficient and helpful way to learn languages because speaking with a native involves 2 of the most crucial skills of language learning. You will be able to improve your listening skill at the same time you're figuring out how to express yourself while speaking. I will be able to pinpoint mistakes as we go and teach you corrections at the appropriate moment during our lesson! Ideally, my lessons will be for those who have a bit of a base in English, but I never want you judge yourself on where you think your abilities are conversationally! you are always more capable than you realize and I want to help you not only realize you can do more with a challenge, but also I can help you grow even further! I am dedicated, patient and only want the best for my students! I really want to learn all about you all, and I intend to be open and understanding throughout the entire process. On top of that, I want the language learning process to be a fun one to keep you coming back and help you to stay motivated on this journey!
