About Beth

Hello! I'm a recent First Class Honours graduate in Psychology from the University of South Wales. I'm passionate about helping students excel academically, particularly those who are neurodivergent. My teaching methodology focuses on creating a supportive and inclusive environment where all students feel seen, heard, and empowered.

During my secondary school years, I struggled with the belief that I was not academic. This was largely due to undiagnosed neurodivergence and a lack of understanding of how to tailor my learning to my unique needs. These personal challenges have ignited my passion for making education accessible, enjoyable, and stress-free for everyone.

Qualifications and Experience:

- First Class Honours BSc in Psychology from the University of South Wales.
- CPD qualifications in ASIST, MHFA, Intro to Male Psychology, and Mental Health and Therapy for Men.
- Enhanced DBS check.
- Consistently achieved high academic standards, including a grade of 80 on my dissertation and an overall first-class average throughout my degree.

In addition to my academic background, I have been offered places on master's courses at Cardiff University. However, I chose to focus on founding a community interest company dedicated to supporting fathers' mental health across the UK.

I am dedicated to helping you achieve your academic goals while fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment. Whether you're on a rooftop bar trying to cram before an exam, finishing one more game of Fortnite before your homework is due, or have just put the baby down and want to share a cup of tea while we discuss psychodynamic theory, I am here. Let's work together to unlock your full potential!

Who Are My Lessons For:

I offer tutoring for GCSE, A Level, and BSc students. My lessons are designed for those looking to strengthen their academic writing skills, particularly in essay and dissertation writing. I am especially committed to supporting neurodivergent students, ensuring they feel valued and understood in their learning journey.

Techniques and Teaching Methodology:

- I specialise in qualitative and ethnographic research and tailor my lessons to meet the unique needs of each student. My approach includes:
- Providing detailed lesson plans ahead of time to help students prepare and feel comfortable.
We can discuss how we move forward at the most comfortable pace for you!
- Using interactive and engaging teaching methods to foster collaboration and enhance understanding.
Focusing on practical applications and real-world examples to make complex concepts more relatable.

Typical Length of a Lesson:

Each lesson is one hour long, providing ample time to cover topics thoroughly while keeping students engaged and focused.

My Teaching Philosophy:

My lessons always prioritise you, the student. I want to make you feel relaxed in a learning environment. To ensure we devise a program that meets your specific needs, I initially offer a 30-minute free consultation session.

Each session is designed just for you, based on your goals, and aims to be engaging and interesting. My tutoring is discussion-based and focuses on ironing out confusing concepts and approaching work set together.

Whatever your requirements, we can find a working initiative together—don't be afraid to message me to get started.
