My philosophy is that a person only fully understands something if they can strip it down for somebody else to understand, and that is what I strive to do when I teach! I put emphasis on making concepts as simple as possible to explain and I'm only satisfied when I know that what I'm explaining is understood. I spend the first session or two gauging the level of my students using a quick test I put together from a low level upwards, and can progress to filling in gaps when this is completed.
In terms of my resources, I have produced revision sheets for every GCSE Maths topic and can take them to students struggling with anything for a simple way to explain things. For GCSE Physics, I have wrote my own personal full revision book with diagrams, questions and colours to comprehensively but simply lay out all of the content in a way that I can teach it the best! I access various free worksheets and past papers when practice is required. Engineering tuition is more tailored to the work at the time, because it can cover anything from mechanical systems to business to MATLAB, but I will always prepare notes and revision content in advance.
I`m excited by the prospect of boosting people`s grades with the knowledge I have and would love to help anyone who thinks I can help them! I tutor Maths and Physics up to GCSE level and Engineering up to degree level, and can also teach various engineering software such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, PVSol, GT Suite and MATLAB. Just ask!!
With my recent degree I have just come up through the education system and have an up-to-date understanding of the content. In school, I won an award for the highest maths grade in the year, was invited to join a top 5% Maths gifted and talented academy, and won a gold award in the Senior Maths Challenge.
I have accumulated over 100 hours of formal tuition with fantastic response and great progress. My students seem content with my teaching and I have seen only 5* reviews (many more reviews on other platforms also, all 5*).
I also have a vast amount of informal experience tutoring colleagues from my university when concepts or problems were not fully understood, and I appreciate the value I can bring to people in this manner. I have assisted Brighton and Hove VI Form college (BHASVIC) to understand how to design and build a competitive race car (which was taken to Silverstone), and have grown up with younger siblings who I have always tried to help with studies. You can be confident that I have learned how to explain concepts at a basic level and in various different ways for most to understand!
Rates may vary slightly for one-off sessions because preparation time is longer and it is not as time-efficient for me
Mark has worked for me dozens of times over the past few years. He’s dedicated, reliable, and extremely conscientious. He’s also great at maths and engineering, and I’d thoroughly recommend him.
I know mark as a fellow course mate who Majors in Automotive engineering and has now achieved his Master's degree.
I had Mark as a tutor back in the summer of 2018 as I studied for my finals in Mechanical Engineering.
He is a dedicated tutor with clear teaching methods, a friendly approach and great time management.
His teaching methods helped me pass my exams in Maths, Dynamics and System Control
He sets realistic targets and constantly surpasses all expectations of his teaching goals
In other words, if you require help in your studies, especially as a technical student, I would definitely recommend Mark
I have known Mark since University and also lived with him for a year. I have seen him studying with people and have also studied together with him . He has been helpful to other people to understand the course material. He always managed to find simple yet efficient way to explain topics to other people. He was also patience with people while explaining, which is why, people feel comfortable asking him questions.
Mark has been a great help during my time in university. Me and Mark has been part of the same study group and he showed himself to be a very patient and supportive friend. He would be a great tutor due to his comprehensible methods of teaching and explaining new concepts, as well as structuring an organised time table for exam preparation.
