About Izzy
I achieved A*s in fine art and textiles at GCSE and A-level, as well as a distinction in Art and Design foundation diploma and a 2.1 BA honours in Illustration.
I also have over 5 years of experience working in a pottery shop. This job required me to teach painting and clay workshops to all age groups, guiding them through sessions from concept to finished creation.

Art is about how the individual sees things. That’s why I think it’s so important to get to know my students before diving into teaching. I want to find out about them; what are their interests/inspirations? What do they want to find out and how can they explore this is different ways? I teach hour long sessions to beginners, GCSE and A level, with a free half an hour trial session.
Sessions are structured and engaging, while still being adaptable to each person. A flexible structure allows for the student to have input into what direction the lessons go in, which is a collaborative and intuitive way to learn. I believe in thinking through making, followed by self-reflection and critical analysis. This process strengthens decision making and encourages problem solving; two things that underpin any creative project.
My teaching is based on my own experience studying fine art and textiles at school, an Art and Design Foundation diploma, and BA Honours illustration degree at university. I can offer guidance on drawing, painting, printmaking, textiles, clay sculpting, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
