About Cecil
I have always been interested in studying people's differing world views and how they respond to life's great questions both as individuals and by participating in the life of communities. I think of my lessons as getting to know 'the facts' and then exploring beliefs and values and how they might apply to living in today's world. It's sharing in a lively dialogue - that maintains concentration and ensures that issues of learning and understanding are addressed.

I have always enjoyed teaching and the dialogue with students. Although I am the 'qualified expert', learning is never one way. One-to-one sessions make demands on both teacher and learner in terms of concentration but I have always maintained a pleasant atmosphere in which progress in understanding and performance is commended and there is a shared determination to achieve success.
I meet students' needs as they arise but usually we share in studying a topic with prepared notes and then move on to model answers to relevant exam questions.
