I am a qualified and science teacher. I have graduated with 2:1 then completed Secondary science PGCE and have gained QTS. I have extensive experience in the classroom, small groups and 1:1 tutoring across KS3 to A level. I am familiar with the new OCR, AQA and EDEXEL curriculum. I am very patient, friendly and approachable which would make pupils be at ease.
I work by the book but realise that everyone has a preferred learning style which I am happy to adapt to. I am patient and detailed in explaining problems and how to get all of the information from the questions in order to get the most marks. In the first lesson, I would either go through any immediate areas of worry or create a long-term plan for how to improve in the whole curriculum.
I'm quite a relaxed mentor and can teach at any skill level. I will mainly focus on sentence structure, oral expression, and comprehension during the lessons, as I believe that vocabulary is best learned and absorbed individually. My aim is to help you to see Spanish as more of a way of thinking and expressing yourself than just words put together.
I am a University student, so I have completed my History GCSE, History iGCSE, and History A-level, as well as an A-level in Politics. I would love to help everyone at all levels up to A-level, whether it be KS3, GCSE or A-level.
I will tutor anyone up to A-Level age, regardless of ability. I Negotiate ground rules, set goals and assessment criteria, set learning objectives, set specific behavior objectives. I encourage students to interact and have lengthy question and answer session to check learning. I use their name positively, ask for their opinion, make a point at looking at their work, comment favorably about genuine effort or achievement.
My method of teaching involves covering a particular topic and then practicing questions on that topic to make sure the student has a thorough understanding of the topic. Past papers will also be a very important tool to understand the students progress.

Firstly I will assess the initial ability of the student, then lessons will consist of translation, reading, writing and speaking in order to gain better comprehension of the target language. Using my knowledge of GCSE and A level examinations, I will identify mistakes made and help the student understand how to avoid such mistakes in an exam situation by using good exam technique.
My experience in industry have helped me to develop a coaching style. I treat the learner as an individual, enhancing their strengths and exploring different ways to tackle areas which do not come naturally. This supports the delivering of the required syllabus tailored to any exam board.
I believe that all students learn differently and adapt my lessons to the individual needs of the student. I believe that students learn best through scaffolding - learning by example - and so adopt the modelling teaching strategy. I also adopt a multi-sensory approach to teaching.
I will follow the specification for each subject, making sure to cover each thing. I will make notes, set questions and let the child ask questions. If the child does want to look at something else one lesson apart from what was planned that is perfectly fine.
