About Matthew
Hi, I’m Matt! I’m a current primary school teacher and I’ve been teaching for around 9 years in both state and independent schools. I love helping pupils grow in confidence and realise what they’re capable of.
I know that sometimes learning can feel tricky or even a bit frustrating and that’s completely normal. My job is to make things clearer, break learning down into manageable steps, and help you feel more confident as you improve.
I try to make my lessons positive, supportive and engaging, so you feel comfortable asking questions and challenging yourself. We’ll work together to build your skills step by step, and celebrate your progress along the way.
I chose to teach because I enjoy helping children succeed and seeing that moment when something finally “clicks”. There’s nothing better than watching someone grow in confidence and start to believe in themselves.
Whether you’re preparing for SATs, the 11+, or just want to feel more confident in maths or English, I’m here to help you do your best.

My tutoring approach is structured, personalised and focused on building both academic progress and pupil confidence. I begin by identifying each pupil’s strengths and areas for development, then create targeted lessons that address gaps while reinforcing key skills.
I use clear explanations, step-by-step modelling and engaging activities to ensure pupils fully understand concepts before applying them independently. Lessons are supportive and encouraging whilst being fun therefore helping children feel confident and motivated to succeed.
Sessions are typically 60 minutes, allowing time for explanation, guided practice and independent work.
I am a qualified QTS primary teacher with 9 years’ experience across both state and independent schools. I specialise in SATs preparation, 11+ tuition, and supporting pupils with SEN, with a proven track record of improving attainment and confidence.
My lessons are designed for primary-aged pupils (Years 3–6), including those preparing for SATs or entrance exams, as well as children who need to strengthen core skills or build confidence in Maths and English.
