About Gregory
I taught basic mechanical engineering, mostly Mechanics (statics and dynamics), for 14 years in a university of technology in South Africa. I have also taught English as a foreign language in South Korea (1 year) and Austria (2 years), and Art and Maths at a high school in Austria. For another 14 years I was in the Teaching Methods Unit of the University of Cape Town, specialising in helping university professors to improve their teaching. I have taught large classes, small groups and individuals. Many of my former students have said very appreciative things about my teaching, and some have stayed in touch over the years.

I try to motivate students, because a motivated person can do wonders. I like my subject, and am able to think of practical examples to illustrate points, on the spur of the moment. I will adapt my teaching to what a student needs to know. As much as possible, I get students to do practical interesting experiments to absorb the principles of mechanics. I am easy-going and like to make the most of humorous situations that develop in connection with learning the subject.

Details
If there is one student, my charge is $20, if there are two students, my charge is $12 each, if three or more, $8 each for the hour. If you cancel a lesson, no penalty, provided you make it up later.
