About Kimberly
Having taught for 27+ years, I have worked with a lot of young people, over a variety of ever-changing English curriculum. I have been teaching high school English in districts both here in Michigan, and in Indiana. My approach is to find real-life examples and applications for whatever the student is studying. I also use humor and storytelling to teach the required skills, which has always put students at ease, and made working together easier.

The most important aspect of any lesson is understanding where your students are regarding the subject. This can only happen by creating a comfortable, one-on-one relationship, where the student can honestly discuss their understanding with the tutor. A typical lesson plan would introduce the topic, and explore the student's preexisting understanding. My experience has been working with secondary students, primarily 9-12th grade students.
